County Fair - Day 1 - Week 3 (Mark Day School)

Mondays go fast. Really fast. The most likely reason is that we pack in so much. We start with a simple question-if you were a tool, what tool would you be? After laughing about that, we move on to an orientation. After that we brainstorm some group agreements everyone can agree on for the week-things like please walk, take care of yourself, treat others the way they want to be treated, and use a tool as a tool. We all sign it. We finish the morning with tool training. Each student learns how to use our three core tools (drill, chop saw and clamps), then they get a chance to practice.

After our long lunch period at the park, we revealed our theme - County Fair! With no real county fair happening this year, we will be going BIG with an epic ride and a giant game of some sort. In one of these two themed design groups, tinkerers spent the afternoon designing, appreciating other designs, and combining the best aspects of each. Tomorrow will be a big day of building as we take those designs and try to bring them to life!
