Today was an exciting day of progress. We worked the the heads of our squirrel and elephant. We split up into a couple of teams and went to work. It was a fun-filled, engaging time for all figuring how to shape the head, make the ears, and choosing a color to use.

During week 4, the Tinkerers learned to BEND METAL!
This was a lesson in intent, leverage, and heat. We talked about the difference in the aesthetics of curves and bends based on the different techniques, and then of course, we practiced! The photos say it better than I ever could!

Today, we made some big progress on the Build-an-Elephant-that-Feeds-a-Peanut-to-a-Squirrel project! This group of Tinkerers naturally gravitates into team that collaborate very well, understand how to communicate to one another, and constantly set goals and achieve them as we move through the session, and today was an awesome example of this well-oiled Tinkering machine!

Last week, the Thursday After School Tinkerers were trained in how to safely use the tools, and also in how to treat one another and the space during our Thursday afternoons together.
