TSO-E Day 5: Building Work Continues

Tinkerers returned to their respective build sites Thursday following a relaxing day at the beach. The senior teams chugged along, staking supports for nearly half of their railway and fine tuning wheel blocks for the car they will use on their roller coaster.

The majority of the junior teams congregated in the Fun Zone to connect various amusement games to the main tree house platform including a rope ladder, a wooden ladder, a couple of large board games, a rope bridge and the nearly perfected zip line.

The Fun Zone is nestled in the forest adjoining the lower and upper build sites.

The junior merry-go-round team suffered a setback due to faulty structural framing when trying to stack one of two hexagonal platforms on top of the other . By day’s end, they had begun to remedy the issues by improving supports, intermittently weight testing along the way.
