Digital Tinkering - Code to Cardboard

Calling all coding curious and creative campers! Join us as we push the boundaries between science, art, technology and engineering!
Tinkerers will get introduced to block based coding using BBC micro:bit as they construct and control a variety of whacky, whimsical, and wonderful creations. They’ll have opportunities to combine large cardboard projects with electronics and robotics (LEDs, servo motors etc) and other craft supplies.
Scholarships are available!
Every session has a new mystery project theme!

No programming/coding experience required. See technology requirements below.
Waitlists: If your preferred session is full, be sure to still add your name to the waitlist. Spots occasionally open up and it’s free of charge to join.

Materials from around the home:
We encourage campers to incorporate household materials into their Catalyst and Digital Tinkering projects. This is in no way required, but if you have time to collect a few of these items, it could be useful for your campers to have them on hand.

Digital Tinkering Camp - Technology Requirements
If you have a desktop or laptop computer, iPad or tablet, you can code!
Mac or PC computer: you can access the web-based coding program with your standard internet browser. (See recommended browser versions here).
iPad or tablet: you can download a free app and pair your device with your micro:bit using bluetooth.
Additional tech instructions / support will be provided in your welcome letter before camp begins.
