Whale of a Tale - Day 2 - Week 1 (Mark Day School)

Day two came and went so quickly it is hard to believe we accomplished so much! We spent some time at opening circle talking about safely carrying materials, but most of the day was devoted to productive building mode, creating a 16’ long roller coaster track, a giant building to hold our whale “house,” a whale tail, a roller coaster cart and countless other small additions. Ask your student what they worked on!

During our final circle of the day we asked students to reflect on our goals for the week. We got many thoughtful responses about friends they had made and mistakes they had learned from. We also heard a few funny ones that made us laugh, including this gem: I made a new friend today: the jigsaw!
