Trash eating monsters from space - Day 5 - Week 1 (SF Day Camp)

What a week!!! We witnessed trash monsters from space taking form from mere sticks of wood. A giant boat, truck, and catapult were successfully constructed that will one day transport the monsters to the bay where they can munch on any pollution and trash they find. And we saw a trash chute feeding system built to impressive standards of precision!

This crew of dedicated tinkerers accomplished so much in just five days and that was only made possible by the great collaboration and teamwork they showcased every day. There were so many examples of campers coordinating their ideas, deciding together what the next building steps would be, helping each other hold down a piece of wood while the other drilled etc…

There were also so many examples of exciting and interesting mistakes that created the opportunity for lots of testing and tons of learning with each new idea. Our tenacious catapult team probably tested out a dozen different versions of their project!
