Spring Break Camp 2015!
After Monday morning introductions the kids split into groups to learn how to use our most basic tools and each other to build things:
Lucas and Ryker team clamp.
Skye gets comfortable with the chopsaw.
Isaac and Tejal help each other join corners of a frame.
This week the tinkerers had to wait all the way until AFTER LUNCH to find out what we were going to make! Carnival Games had been such a fun theme that we wanted to fill the space with more games. This week we are making a Game Room! To start the week off we began making an Air-Hockey table, a giant Hungry, Hungry, Hippos game, and a Shootin' Hoops set up! Once the projects were revealed the designing began!

By the end of Tuesday a lot of the tinkerers had gotten to use and even become familiar with some of the more complex tools like, the band saw, hand saws, and I saw a hand made compass in use too!
The entire Air Hockey crew was needed to cut this huge plywood!

When your cut doesn't fit in the BandSaw you gotta do it by hand!
These projects are all reaching some tricky parts, like hockey goal pocket design, hippo food ramps and hippo design. Can't wait to see how the kids solve these puzzles!
