Week 2 Thursday in Photos Many wonderful things happened yesterday! Brody demonstrates where the pulley on the toll booth gate lifter should be installed! The plan for the toll booth's lifting gate. Helen and Justin diligently continue their work on the crane's lifting mechanism. Ainsley focuses on lining up the bandsaw cut. The wood will later help sheath the toll booth. Julia assists by making sure the cut wood stays parallel to the floor. The bridge building team pauses for a quick regroup and team meeting. The vehicle building group also paused for a regroup. (The shop was very warm yesterday, so we took a lot of breaks to talk about what we were doing and make concrete plans before proceeding.) Hugo and Nathan work as a team to double check measurements on the vehicle's skeleton. Drafting plans and writing down ideas is instrumental in successful Tinkering. Documentation helps to let everyone know what the goals of the session are, what has been accomplished, and which ideas still need work before proceeding. Jaime takes notes for the group. The only disadvantage to building really tall things is that it's sometimes very difficult to drive in screws that are above shoulder level. Ari is intensely focused on completing the bridge supports, even though the work is really hard! Amanda SimonsJune 26, 2015Comment Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 Reddit Tumblr 0 Likes
